Project Overview

This is a role within the Renewable and Clean Power (R&CP) business in the Infrastructure GBU, working across all regions.

 

Position Summary

Requires a dynamic and innovative professional with a deep knowledge of renewables, traditional and emerging power generation and storage technologies, and who has experience with project management and project execution methodologies. Responsible within the R&CP business to participate in strategy development, market evaluation and execution planning activities including market and customer evaluation, competitor assessments, industry trends, drivers and critical needs, and for recommending teaming arrangements, strategic relationships, and execution lessons learned implementation techniques. Reports to and receives operational and functional supervision from the General Manager for R&CP. Provides support to the Operations Manager and Business Development Managers as required. The role provides a unique opportunity to shape and implement Bechtel’s approach to the historic transition to renewables and clean power solutions. 

 

Responsibilities

• Undertakes extensive research, monitoring and evaluation of power market trends, understand customer challenges and target market needs; recommends strategic new services, technical capabilities and sector needs that the company should pursue
• Keep informed of customers' & competitors’ present and future plans for growth, projects, and programmatic and technical requirements
• Performs necessary research on customer and competition, developing alternate strategies related to value proposition and service offerings
• Maintains strategic initiative database and progress for the sector
• Identifies and develops R&CP related strategies globally
• Participates in planning the business development strategy for the R&CP business
• Performs various calculations to help analyze the financial background of targeted markets / prospects
• Willing to support and/or lead other aspects of the R&CP strategy implementation including the identification and development of opportunities in other industry verticals
• Actively participates in the formalization of the power sector strategy, including board level papers / presentations
• Supports the preparation and coordination of marketing and communications content
• Demonstrates thorough use of personal knowledge, supplemented by other Bechtel personnel, to resolve how Bechtel RC&P can improve its value propositions
• Supports the preparation of corporate approval documents related to prospective work, as may be requested by Operations Managers
• Facilitates R&CP business input to BGI and GBU level business planning, monthly updates and other information requests
• In coordination with MI, responsible for the overall administration of the R&CP overhead budget and reporting

 

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, engineering or related field and 6 years of experience in various roles for power strategy, business development, project management or in lieu of a degree, 12 years of related work experience
• Strong background and experience in Renewables and other power generation technologies

 

Additional Qualifications

• Experience with the application of renewable energy technologies (Solar, Wind, BESS)
• Ability to learn new technologies and assess the value of business goals and strategy
• Knowledge of company capabilities and services available to customers
