Job Summary:
Dane Street is seeking a Board-Certified Infectious Disease Physician licensed in Missouri to serve as a Physician Reviewer/Advisor for Independent Medical Exams (IME). In this role, you will leverage your clinical expertise to evaluate insurance appeals, as well as prospective and retrospective medical claims. You will interpret the medical necessity of services rendered by other healthcare professionals while ensuring compliance with client-specific policies, nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines, and standards of care.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review medical records thoroughly and address each client-specific question using appropriate criteria.
- Provide clear, concise rationales supported by adequate documentation.
- Apply national, state, and professional association guidelines, as well as peer-reviewed literature to support decisions.
- Avoid reliance on limited-sample studies (e.g., case reports, small cohorts) in determinations.
- Submit reviews with included criteria documentation on or before deadlines.
- Participate in mandatory phone consultations, as required by client or state regulations.
- Maintain all necessary licensures, board certification, and credentials.
- Attend all mandatory training sessions and orientation programs.
- Respond to quality assurance reviews, client complaints, audits, or legal proceedings when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Infectious Disease (Required)
- Active clinical practice preferred
- Current Missouri state medical license in good standing
- Strong analytical and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to objective and evidence-based evaluations
