🔧 Job Overview

A Lube Tech performs basic vehicle maintenance services, focusing primarily on oil changes and other fluid-related services. It's often a starting point for a career in automotive repair.


✅ Typical Responsibilities



Oil Changes – Drain and replace engine oil and oil filters.


Fluid Checks & Top-offs – Transmission, coolant, brake, power steering, and windshield washer fluids.


Tire Rotations – Rotating tires to promote even wear.


Air Filter Replacements – Engine and cabin air filters.


Inspect Belts & Hoses – Look for visible wear or damage.


Chassis Lubrication – Lubricate suspension and steering systems if needed.


Basic Safety Inspections – Check brakes, lights, battery, and other basic components.


Qualifications🛠️ Skills Required



Basic automotive knowledge


Ability to use hand tools and power tools


Attention to detail


Physical stamina (lots of standing, lifting, bending)


Good communication (to interact with customers or service advisors)




📘 Certifications & Training



High school diploma or GED Preferred
