About The Role:
This position is for a Lead Engineering Services and Support technician who is under minimal supervision. Performs complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. Leads lower-level support staff to confer with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results. May serve as a resource on varied tasks.
The technician will need to understand and perform tasks from written and verbal requirements; setup computers, instrumentation, test cells and equipment, and collect data that is useful in evaluating performance.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- The technician applies skills to perform HVACR testing and troubleshooting to electromechanical equipment with the ability to analyze HVACR performance data to resolve most questions and problems.
- Must be able to maintain units and laboratory equipment in proper operating condition.
- The Technician must adapt to new procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet the more complex requirements and functions of the position.
- This position requires a highly motivated work ethic and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma with 8+ years of repair technician experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Must be proficient in data acquisition setup and data collection using LabView.
Must be proficient in MS office applications, specifically Excel, along with overall good computer skills.
Must have Refrigerant recovery certification and be able to braze components in and out of units
Must be able to pull wire harnesses out of a unit, dissemble and reassemble all components, and get it operational.
Must understand HVACR systems, controls, diesel engines, and be able to troubleshoot unit issues.
Knowledge of physics of power and battery technology is highly desirable.
Environmental testing, metal fabrication, auto mechanics, programming, and/or CAD skills are a plus.
