These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Job Description
Role Summary
The Field Services Team Lead supports the Service Manager in driving regional execution, operational discipline, and customer satisfaction. This role combines field service execution with regional operational leadership to help ensure safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of service commitments.
The Team Lead supports daily execution activities while helping manage business performance, customer relationships, and team capability across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Execution Leadership
Approximately two-thirds of time is focused on execution, including:
- Coordinating service execution activities, including R3, IKO, EKO, purchasing, and supplier procurement
- Supporting resource planning and scheduling
- Managing scope, change, and execution issue resolution
- Responding to customer callouts and service requests
- Supporting service quotation development
- Partnering with internal teams to drive on-time, on-scope execution
Operational Leadership
Approximately one-third of time is focused on operational support, including:
- Supporting the Service Manager in managing the region to business KPIs
- Reviewing and auditing field engineering deliverables, including time reports, trip reports, timesheets, software updates, and punch list completion
- Supporting invoicing, revenue recognition, WIP, and ECA management
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, business partners, and suppliers
- Supporting team development across technical and operational capabilities
- Driving operating discipline, compliance, and execution consistency
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field from an accredited university or college; or High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience
- Minimum 4 years of field engineering experience in power generation, industrial automation, DCS, PLC, or related environments
- Ability to troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems from field devices through control systems and networking
- Proven ability to build credibility with customers, suppliers, and GE project management and engineering teams
- Strong customer focus, interpersonal skills, and computer proficiency
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, geographically dispersed team environment
- Strong technical knowledge in one or more of the following:
- Steam turbine control
- Combustion turbine control
- Hydro turbine systems
- Excitation and generator protection systems
- Power plant BOP systems
- Equipment installation in these technologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Customer-facing experience in field service, customer service, or project management
- Valid driver’s license and passport, or ability to obtain
Desired Qualifications
- Prior industrial field service experience
- Controls experience with prime mover equipment
- Hands-on electronics and/or mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and TCP/IP configuration
- Ability to learn and apply software tools supporting HMI and application changes, such as Cimplicity, Toolbox, and GAP
- Prior mechanical or maintenance experience
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and drive results
- Demonstrated ability to set and achieve challenging goals
- Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience
