Medcor is currently looking for a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant in our employer-based clinic setting in Moline, IL. The work environment is in a modern, global manufacturing facility, focusing on occupational health and primary care. The position hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 5:00am-11:00am.

The compensation for this position is $30.00-$32.00/hour.

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works as part of a rehabilitation team to assist in the delivery of physical therapy services to patients with a variety of physical conditions. The PTA will perform tasks directed by the physical therapist (PT), including administering treatments, monitoring patient progress, and maintaining detailed records of patient care.

A typical day in the life of a Medcor Physical Therapist Assistant:

  • Implement therapeutic interventions and exercises as directed by the physical therapist (e.g., stretching, strengthening exercises, manual therapy, modalities like heat/cold therapy).
  • Assist patients with exercises to improve mobility, flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination.
  • Ensure that the treatments are delivered according to the physical therapist’s plan of care.
  • Guide patients through prescribed treatment plans, providing clear instructions and support
  • Evaluate and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising PT.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Follow pre-determined treatment plans when the PT is not present, in accordance with formal training and established guidelines.
  • Ensure all interventions are within the scope of practice for a PTA and comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with physical therapists regarding patient outcomes, modifications to treatments, or concerns.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals (nurses, doctors, etc.) to coordinate patient care.
  • Assist with patient education on injury prevention and wellness strategies.
  • Provide additional assistance as directed by the PT, including setting up equipment and preparing treatment areas.
