**This is a hybrid position with primary office location in The Woodlands**

**This position will support Entergy offices locations throughout Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas and travel will be required for on site support**

 

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Entergy’s electronic physical security systems are a complex set of components that are critical to our compliance, safety and security programs. Troubleshooting and maintenance of these systems requires an advanced level of understanding of physical security components combined with a high level of troubleshooting capabilities, persistence, excellent work ethic and attention to detail.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electronic physical security technician supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operational lifecycle of Entergy’s physical security components located throughout our territory, starting with the oversight and quality control of system installation and the final operational configuration for commissioning of the product.  The technician supervisor is then responsible for all remote/field maintenance and repair of all electronic physical security systems in their assigned regionin all Entergy territories.  This includes preventative maintenance tasks to keep systems operating efficiently, regular functional testing to verify operation and coordination with key stakeholders for moves, adds, changes and repairs of any physical security components.  This requires close collaboration between remote support staff, field support staff, the physical security operations center, physical security engineers, project managers, access management groups and our internal Entergy business unit customers.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required

Bachelor degree in industrial controls, Security systems, computer systems, electronics or electrical engineering technologies or relevant work experience in lieu of degree.

Minimum experience required

5+ years experience supervising and leading operational teams and/or project teams. 10+ years experience in installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of physical security systems/components to include the following: Radar intrusion detection systems, Perimeter Sensors, Thermal cameras, PTZ cameras, Camera analytics, IP speakers, Encoders, Video management servers/Network video recorders, Reactive lighting, Strobes, Environmental sensors, Badge readers, Control Panels, Power supplies, Sounders, Door contacts, Motion sensors, Maglocks, Electronic crash bars and strikes, Cypher locks, Electronic padlocks, Gate controllers, IP intercom systems, Vehicle sensors and access control, Understanding of Network switch configuration, Point to point wireless systems, Media converters, IP addressing, VLAN configuration, MS Windows networking configuration, MS Windows AD configuration, Various network cabling and infrastructure

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years experience working in regulated industrial environments such as plants and substations
  • 5+ years experience working in service now or similar work management system
  • 5+ years experience using rigid change management processes

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required

  • Ability to supervise remote employees
  • Ability to mentor and provide guidance for junior team members and contractors
  • Ability to hold employees and contractor accountable for quality work
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of all physical security listed above
  • Ability to document processes and train team members
  • Understanding of budget management, scope management and schedule management
  • Ability to create and report performance metrics
  • Be able to research, understand and provide guidance to technical problems and perform a wide variety of non-routine work where only general methods of procedure are available.
  • Must have excellent work ethic, customer service skills, communication skills, collaboration skills and be able to work independently with minimum supervision at remote locations.
  • Ability to create a safety/security culture for assigned team and enforce compliance
  • Must pass compliance training provided by Entergy
  • Must be able to travel within the regionally assigned territory on a daily basis
  • Must have a good credit record in order to obtain a corporate travel card
  • Must have excellent work ethic, customer service skills and be able to work independently with minimum supervision at remote locations.

Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position

  • Be able to maintain a valid Driver's License,
  • TWIC card or other applicable required license may be required at some assigned
