Apogee is actively seeking a Senior Systems Engineer supporting the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Program Executive Office for Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (AF PEO NC3) at Hanscom AFB, MA.

What you'll be doing:

  • Apply engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods sufficient to extend or modify theories, concepts, and assumptions.
  • Apply and support digital engineering concepts and techniques throughout the program lifecycle, such as providing technical support to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force processes. 
  • Perform Information Systems Security Developer (631) and Systems Developer (632) Core/Additional Tasks and meet the KSAs as outlined in DoD Cyber Workforce Framework. 
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to incorporate communications systems and Modular Open System Architectures (e.g. Open Mission Systems) on host platforms with an NC3 mission to enable NC3 modernization. Analysis considerations should include SWAP-C, HW/SW processing environments, and technology limitations.
  • Evaluate the value and applicability of new or improved technology, strategies, trends, and applications.

What you'll need:

  • Security Clearance Required: Secret
  • One of the following education/experience combinations: 
    • Master's degree in Engineering or Information Systems related field and 8+ years' systems engineer experience (10+ years' preferred), OR
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Systems related field and 10+ years' systems engineer experience, OR
    • 16+ years' Engineering experience in lieu of degree
  • Strong working Knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite software and project management/scheduling software programs such as MS Project 
  • Knowledge of principles, criteria, and procedures of the DoD to include DoD 5000.01 and DoD 5000.02 as well as the policies and processes of USAF, HQ AFMC, and the AFNWC

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with a HSA and HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military and jury duty paid leaves. Regular part time employees scheduled for twenty-four or more hours per work week are eligible for benefits on a pro-rated basis.
  • This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
  • The base pay for this position is $125,000 to $206,000 across the U.S. There is also a different range applicable for specific work locations. Base pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, training and education.
