Job Description

At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. This role can be based in our Sunnyvale, San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago offices.

 

The Staff, Advanced Analytics role is the curator and creator of Advanced Analytics solutions across LinkedIn Talent Solutions (LTS) and LinkedIn Sales Solutions (LSS) functions.  You will learn the business inside-out, develop roadmaps, and drive outcomes for our global customers with Advanced Analytics solutions (e.g., segmentation and forecasting). You will lead engagements with business leaders to identify opportunities and design/deliver analytical solutions (typically with a combination of SQL and Python/R). Our solutions aim to provide the right information at the right time to enable the best outcomes.   

The ideal candidate will function as a senior analytics practitioner and, therefore,  require advanced SQL skills as well as Predictive Analytics skills to navigate end-to-end data asset development lifecycle (e.g., requirements elicitation through development and eventual sunset).  The candidate should also have strong analytical skills and be adept at deriving, distilling and articulating actionable business insights from large amounts of data.  Using strong communication skills, the Advanced Analytics role will effectively collaborate with a variety of people and job functions, accomplishing tasks of high complexity and scope, and have the ability to perform professionally in a challenging and extremely fast-paced environment.  The candidate will work with upstream partners and mentor junior resources on the team to help deliver against critical analytical deliverables.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop/deploy production models (e.g., forecasting and classification)
  • Leverage LinkedIn’s unique data to create innovative analyses & dashboards. 
  • Work with upstream technology partners to develop and deliver technical solutions.
  • Write SQL/Python queries to extract necessary data, analyze the results to generate actionable insights and present the findings either in Tableau, Excel or PowerPoint.
  • Develop analytics dashboards and other scaled visualizations to inform decision making business-wide.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales, marketing, engineering and data teams to provide analysis, reporting and tools that inform key stakeholders.
  • Build cross-functional relationships and partner effectively with other teams to drive project success.
  • Make business recommendations, conveying findings at multiple levels including managers and peers through visual displays of quantitative information. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical or related field or related practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience in data-driven roles (data science, data insights, data analytics, or similar)
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL
  • 5+ years of experience with either Python or
  • 3+ years of experience developing and deploying predictive models

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • People management or technical lead experience
  • Advanced experience and proficiency with Excel
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills
  • Experience presenting data and other complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders
  • Proven experience managing a large group of stakeholders and independently driving global projects
  • Experience with Sales Operations processes and CRM systems (e.g., SFDC and Dynamics)
  • Experience with Power BI and Tableau
