Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana invites applicants for a full-time position in the School of Information Technology at the rank of Assistant Professor of Software Development. The responsibilities of the position of Assistant Professor of Software Development are to 1) Prepare and teach post-secondary classroom courses in the theory and practice of Software Development and other related interdisciplinary program courses focused on Software Development in the Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana School of Information Technology – the Assistant Professor of Software Development will be assigned to teach any of the following courses: SDEV 120 - Computing Logic (3 Credit Hours);SVAD 150 - Cloud Foundations (3 Credit Hours);SDEV 153 - Website Development (3 Credit Hours);SDEV 265 - Systems and Software Analysis and Projects (3 Credit Hours); CSCI 101 – Computer Science (3 Credit Hours); SDEV 200 – Software Development with Java (3 Credit Hours); SDEV 220- Software Development Using Python (3 Credit Hours); SDEV 230 - Software Development Using C++ (3 Credit Hours); SDEV 240 – Software Development Using C# (3 Credit Hours); SDEV 255 - Web Application Development (3 Credit Hours); and SDEV 264 - Mobile Application Development (3 Credit Hours); 2) Evaluate and grade post-secondary students’ class work, assignments, and papers while maintaining student attendance records, grades, and other required records, as well as maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students; 3) Lead and conduct scholarly research and publication in regard to Software Development as well as conduct other interdisciplinary research, publication, and field studies focused on Software Development within the Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana School of Information Technology; and 4) Participate in Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana governance by participating in faculty committee work and meetings, as well as curriculum development and learning objectives.
The position of Assistant Professor of Software Development requires a Master’s Degree in Information and Communication Sciences, Software Development, Computer Science, or a similarly related field.
