Overview
The Chick-fil-A Tax Department is responsible for tax compliance, technology, special projects, research, and audit defense functions for independently owned franchised restaurants and corporate activities. We exist to provide tax planning, regulatory reporting and consulting to stakeholders, governments, external auditors, and business leaders. As we grow in complexity and global footprint, we seek to influence business decisions, reduce tax liability, and mitigate risk.
The Accountant III, Sales Tax Compliance roles primary responsibilities will be to support the Sales Tax Compliance function by assisting with state and local sales and use tax compliance for Operators, Chick-fil-A, Inc., and related affiliates. An Accountant III, Sales Tax Account Compliance performs work with limited to moderate supervision, conferring with superior or unusual matters.
The Accountant III will be responsible for the growth and development of the department through participation in department meetings, conferences, webinars and professional/personal development.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process and file state and local sales tax returns for Operators, Chick-fil-A, Inc., and related affiliates. May be assigned moderately complex sales tax Ensure the sales and use tax returns are filed accurately and timely.
- Document processes related to state and local sales tax returns
- Respond to state and local tax notices
- Monitor and research relevant tax rate changes
- Respond to Operators/team members in a timely manner
- Reconcile tax liability accounts and investigate account discrepancies
- Support of Operator sales activities outside of restaurant
- Serve as a resource for compliance staff with less experience
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assistance with state and local licensing and registration requirements
- Interact with state and local tax authorities regarding compliance issues
- Assists with data gathering for various audit initiatives and research with minimal supervision
- Assistance with use tax accruals and reconciliations
- Assist with special projects as needed
- May lead lower risk projects
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of tax or accounting experience
- Bachelors Accounting/Finance & CPA Eligible
