General Summary:

This Staff Accountant role will support the Accounting Manager with all accounting and financial reporting activities, as well as various operational tasks. The accountant will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. As a Staff Accountant, this role will be responsible for supporting various financial functions, including reconciliations, financial reporting, invoicing, and assisting with the month-end close process.

 

Reports to:  Accounting Manager

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Record daily bank transactions in NetSuite

• Process daily invoices for International and Domestic customers

• Assist in AR collections

• Reconcile Bank/Cash accounts

• Participate in monthly close activities, including routine journal entries and account reconciliations

• Prepare documents and schedules for annual financial audit

• Complete weekly analysis of shipping costs

• Enter vendor invoices

• Utilize NetSuite to report on ad-hoc requests from Management

 

Required Skills:

 

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel to efficiently analyze data and prepare reports

• Be prepared to assist other departments with projects or daily tasks as needed

• Work quickly, accurately, and diligently through workload

• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERPs is a plus

 

 

Minimum Experience:

 

• 1-3 years experience in an accounting role

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in public accounting or consumer goods

• CPA designation or progress towards CPA is a plus

 

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
