The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity.

The Agency is responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowering consumers through health care transparency initiatives.

Position Overview:

This is not a remote worker (teleworker) position.

 

SALARY RANGE

$1,833.39 - $2,730.77 Biweekly

Salary is negotiable based on experience.

 

This position has been identified as mission essential.

The incumbent in this position may be required to work during the weekend or on holidays.

 In addition, mission essential personnel will be required to work during disasters, to include but not limited to, work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.

Emergency work may involve the incumbent to work in another county or staffing location to assist other State Agencies with emergency work.

Emergency duties may include, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

 

A good attendance record is essential for any individual in this position as the work involved occurs daily and is time sensitive. 

The individual in this position is expected to report to work daily and on time.

 

This position is responsible for the independent application of accounting and auditing concepts, principles, theory, and technical skills in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in the Policy and Systems Section (P&S) of the Bureau of Financial Services (Bureau).

These duties require knowledge of the rules and regulations of Florida Statutes, Department of Financial Services (DFS), Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) system, and the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) accounting procedures.

 

Participates in workgroups as it relates to fiscal-related activity by performing the following:

• Makes suggestions to enhance performance and improve processes.

• Assists with implementation of new processes and systems.

• Assists with the creation or updating of fiscal and administrative policies and procedures across all work units within the bureau. The priority will be policies and procedures that need to be updated to address audit findings.

• Assists with the identification and mitigation of risks across all work units within the bureau.

 

Performs complex monthly cash analyses of the agency's various trust funds and Burn Report; reviews and analyzes the cash sources and the uses for various trust funds and evaluate funding streams and makes recommendations for more efficient use of funding opportunities.

 Conducts monthly analytical review of the agency's trial balance. Ensures all funds are reconciled, in balance and that general ledger codes are properly used in the agency's financial records.

Analyzes, develops, and maintains policies and procedures that implement controls to ensure that financial transactions and records are complete; adequately supported; in compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and accounting stand
