Cost Accountant

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, as well as experience in cost accounting. As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing recommendations to management to improve profitability. 

Requirements

 Responsibilities:
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports on product costs, inventory levels, and manufacturing expenses
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures
• Monitor and analyze inventory transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
• Prepare and present financial reports to management, including variance analysis and cost-benefit analysis
• Assist with month end closing and year end closing
• Prepare documentation for CPA’s and auditors as needed
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
• Proficient in NetSuite software preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles and regulations
