The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Strategic Business Technology Partner.

 

The Strategic Business Technology Partner is a strategic technology advisor who partners with business leaders to align technology investments with organizational goals and mission impact. This role develops technology roadmaps, shapes investment priorities, identifies opportunities for innovation, and helps ensure technology solutions deliver measurable business value. Working across business and technology teams, the Strategic Business Technology Partner applies expertise in nonprofit operations, fundraising and constituent engagement technologies, and emerging capabilities such as artificial intelligence to drive growth, efficiency, and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate brings a blend of consulting, relationship management, delivery experience and technology leadership, with the ability to guide initiatives from strategy through delivery execution and adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a strategic technology advisor and advocate for assigned business units, building trusted relationships and aligning technology investments with business goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Develops and maintains business capability roadmaps and technology strategies that align technology investments with organizational priorities and business outcomes.
  • Facilitates the intake, evaluation, and prioritization of technology demand, balancing strategic objectives, resource constraints, risks, and organizational priorities.
  • Partners with Enterprise Architects, Product Managers, Delivery Teams, Systems Engineers, Cyber and Business Technology leadership to align technology solutions with business needs, enterprise standards, and strategic objectives.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and advises on opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI, automation, analytics, and digital innovation, to improve business outcomes and operational effectiveness.
  • Applies knowledge of nonprofit business models, processes, and technology ecosystems, including fundraising, donor engagement, constituent management, advocacy, marketing, volunteer engagement, and mission delivery platforms.
  • Anticipates business challenges and industry trends, recommending technology solutions, process improvements, and innovation opportunities while communicating benefits, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Supports change management, stakeholder engagement, and technology adoption efforts to ensure successful implementation and alignment with enterprise governance and best practices.
  • Manages the portfolio of technology initiatives for assigned business areas, providing visibility into priorities, risks, dependencies, resource needs, and progress.
  • Contributes to enterprise technology planning, portfolio governance, and strategic initiatives, identifying opportunities for collaboration, standardization, and process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields: Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ Management Information Systems (or related area of study), Project Management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in technology delivery management, business technology consulting, product management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience partnering with executives and business leaders to align technology solutions with business objectives.
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps, strategic plans, or technology investment portfolios.
  • Experience developing and gaining alignment on technology strategies, business cases, or implementation plans.
