Pricing & Costing Analyst
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Job type: Full time
Schedule: Standard Daytime hours, Monday-Friday
Salary: $65,000 - $95,000
*Compensation for this position includes annual salary, short-term incentive bonus, and full benefits package offerings. The exact amount of base salary may vary based on experience and skills brought to the role as well as the geographic location of the role.
What You’ll Do
The primary role of the Costing Analyst is to partner with the Pricing Team, Category Managers and Sales to maximize Viking Electric profitability through enhanced costing analysis, and Vendor collaboration.
You will…
- Execute continual stock costing optimization by monitoring vendor price increases and owning price file analysis and readout.
- Coordinate with Category Managers and Pricing Managers to set and maintain Comm-Cost to Rep-Cost strategy.
- Research COGS discrepancies and provide recommendations for corrections.
- Participate in line reviews and prepare vendor performance reporting to ensure competitive costing.
- Maintains Cost deviations and routinely reviews.
- Execute continual special pricing agreement optimization. Review group SPA profitability opportunities and provide Individual SPA enhancement recommendations.
What You Bring
Requirements:

Analytical skills:
- Required: Strong Excel ability, some history of analysis in college (economics, statistics, etc) or business (pricing, finance, business intellgence)
- Preferred: SQL and/or dashboard experience, although that seems unlikely

Business experience:
- Required: 4 years of business experience in any capacity
- Preferred: some industry experience and some history developing business processes

Communication:
- Required: Can have an hour long 1 on 1 conversation with someone they don't know
- Preferred: Would feel comfortable presenting to a group of people
- Experience in electrical product management or customer-facing sales role in electrical distribution preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
- Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to travel
