ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned 

 

• This role will assist primarily with the implementation, configuration, and migration of systems within GCP. 
• Configure access to services in GCP, and ensure that network configurations support least privilege methodologies.
• Manage SSO and user access, including the provisioning of accounts as well as service accounts.
• Have an understanding of Big Query, and be able to assist data teams in configuration of infrastructure aspects of Big Query such as access, authorization, encryption, and data transfer.
• Understanding and ability to deploy Virtual Machines in GCP with Google’s Compute Engine.
• Have an understanding of core firewalling principles, and assist with firewall configurations with assistance from the networking and information security teams.
• Participate and refine disaster recovery strategies and backup solutions in GCP. 
• Perform regular DR drills to ensure readiness and minimize recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).
• Assist in migration of resources out of GCP where necessary.
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and configuration of resources using Terraform, puppet, or Ansible.
• Refine monitoring and alerting solutions using GCP native alerting.
• Continuously optimize cloud resources for performance, reliability, and cost.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to align cloud solutions with business goals.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Must have at least 4 - 6 years of related experience in Information Technology.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience in Google Cloud.
• Extensive hands-on experience with GCP services, including Google Compute, Big Query, and SSO management.
• Knowledge of Cloud Storage, Firewall, VPCs and VPC peering.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and GCP-native tools 
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible
• Solid understanding of GCP IAM, VPC, security groups, and network configurations.
• Property/casualty insurance background and jewelry industry experience are helpful, but not required.
• Understanding of cost management and optimization strategies in GCP is a plus.
• Familiarity with GCP Native logging and analytics tools.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

GCP Certifications in Operations, Networking, and Security at the associate or above level are a plus.
