The Role We Want You For
The Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis is a newly created role that will lead the company’s consolidated reporting, forecasting, and analytics for its development projects and operating properties in the Industrial, Multi-Family, Student Housing, Data Center and other sectors. The position will be responsible for providing enhanced and timely reporting and analytics on asset, fund, and portfolio-level performance to senior leadership, joint venture partners, and fund-level investors. This position will also be responsible for facilitating our annual and quarterly reforecasting processes. The Vice President will report to the Chief Capital Officer and function as a bridge between the keepers of key property-level information and projections and the various end users, to facilitate optimal decision making and improved performance.
The Specifics of the Role
- Lead the FP&A function to facilitate the efficient flow of information on CRG’s development and investment assets, to drive improved company performance through operational insights, decision support analytics, and increased investor satisfaction.
- Serve as a bridge between operational teams managing property-level models (Capital Markets / Investments / Asset Management) and the end-users of such models, including Senior Management, Accounting, and Fund Management / Investor Relations.
- Go beyond simple reporting: Analyze performance data and projections to identify and communicate operational highlights, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Implement improvements to the platform’s current FP&A processes, software, and systems; integrate systems to analyze and disseminate data efficiently.
- Support Senior Management in reporting on CRG performance to its parent company, Clayco.
Forecasting and Business Planning:
- Coordinate quarterly reforecasting of property-level Excel and Argus models with the Capital Markets, Asset Management, Investments, and Accounting teams; ensure models are maintained in an accurate and consistent fashion.
- Establish and maintain dynamic rollup models that consolidate building-level models in Excel and Argus to produce portfolio-level forecasts by asset class and / or fund.
- Provide business line leaders, Senior Management, and Fund Management / Investor Relations teams with actionable insights from consolidated forecasts, including liquidity needs, profitability estimates, and performance highlights and challenges.
- Collaborate with Accounting team to maintain platform-level budgets and P&L / liquidity projections; track and forecast predevelopment costs for Senior Management.
Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Reporting:
- Serve as a key contributor to the quarterly reporting process for CRG-sponsored funds; provide accurate performance metrics and analytics for investor communications.
- Conduct financial analysis for internal team members and Senior Management to highlight key performance drivers, variances, and potential risks and opportunities.
