The Role at a Glance
We are excited to bring on an Internal Controls Consultant to our Vendor Management Organization in our Greensboro, NC office or in a work from home environment.
Background Details
As the Internal Controls Consultant, you will serve as a subject matter expert for financial and operational controls of various vendor services. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders and auditors to ensure the control environment aligns with the service vendor audit program. You will develop and execute more complex audit testing to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of operations and controls, reliability of SOC-1 reporting and compliance with applicable law. What you'll be doing
- You will track and monitor progress against action plans.
- You will develop and review test plans to ensure controls processes are consistently followed.
- You will partner with the Vendor Management Organization team to execute remediation plans and close identified gaps.
- You will serve as first alert system to anticipate and address service vendor control risks before they become an issue.
- You will conduct quality assurance review process on a periodic basis, including periodic testing to ensure controls are executed as documented in SOX process narratives or operational procedures.
What we’re looking for
Must-have experience:
- 3-5+ years of experience with SOX and/or financial/operation controls directly aligned to the specific responsibilities of this position
- 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s) in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology
Nice-to-have experience:
- License/Designations such as CPA and/or CFE
- Vendor management and/or risk management experience with SOX process and controls
- NAIC general knowledge
- Experience creating audit work papers
Travel Requirements
- Up to 50%

The pay range for this position is $67,000 - $120,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
