The Sr Accountant, MegaFood is a key member of the Accounting Team, involved in month end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and process improvement.  The position reports to the Controller, MegaFood.

Key Responsibilities

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

• Maintain General Ledger Account Reconciliations and Process Journal entries for Payroll, Commissions and Broker Payments, other spending.

• Assist Finance Manager in Analysis as needed.

• Lead for Sales Tax system (Avalara).

• Trade Spend accruals, tracking and reconciliations.  Understand unreconciled issues and assisting in root causes analysis and resolution.

• Review and Process Journal Entries for FP&A Team.

• Assist with Year-end revenue recognition analysis and entries.

• Review and update all internal controls applicable to areas of responsibility.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with competent operating knowledge of accounting principles and experience in a CPG Manufacturing environment. They enjoy working collaboratively and cross functionally with the broader organization in a fast paced and changing environment.

You will be most successful in this role if you have:

• Analytical skills with in-depth understanding of general ledger.

• Attention to details, organization and accuracy is critical.

• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.

• Desire to build strong internal, external and cross functional partnerships to resolve issues, providing support for solutions to promote a high quality of service.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with internal business partners, including making recommendations and communicating upward.

Capabilities & Skills Required

To take on these challenges, you will need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business.

• 5+ years as a staff accountant, preferably in a Consumer Products Company.

• Advanced experience on Microsoft office products particularly Excel.

• Strong systems background; experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics a plus).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
