Position Specific Description
The ideal Marketing Specialist is very versatile and can support the marketing department in a variety of areas. This individual will provide the necessary support to initiate, develop, implement, and/or measure projects, programs, and initiatives. The ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as being very detailed-oriented and well-organized. This role will lead the planning and execution of event details including travel, booth setup and teardown, and the ordering and shipping of swag and printed materials for conferences and trade shows.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and manages a comprehensive events calendar including all components of planning and execution for conferences and trade shows
- Partners with business stakeholders to define marketing objectives and advertising initiatives
- Assists in tracking the team’s progress against the marketing operational plan
- Writes and edits copy – for both internal and external audiences – including, but not limited to: articles, scripts, marketing collateral, web content, forum responses, blogs, newsletters, social media posts, press releases, sales collateral, email campaigns, training, and conference materials
- Maintains library of marketing assets on shared drive
- Develops and executes a content calendar to ensure consistent social media activity (posts) that aligns with brand persona to engage target audiences
- Coordinates with Customer Care and Quality Assurance for handling of online reputational management issues
- Manages external relationships with vendors (graphic designers, printers, etc.) to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of high-quality communications materials
- Stays up-to-date on the latest marketing trends, tools, technologies, and platforms as well as industry-specific news
- Knowledge shares with colleagues to establish a team culture of collaboration, innovation, curiosity, and passion
- Demonstrates discipline and organization in executing projects, while building and maintaining great relationships with co-workers, stakeholders, and agency partners
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with Hubpot email campaigns
- Experience with social media management tools
- Energy industry experience a plus
- Ability to travel occasionally for events and conferences
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) a plus
- Ability to accurately and consistently follow brand guidelines, AP style, and company communication standards
