Job Description

The IT Internet/Web Software Engineer II  will work directly with the Digital IT Director and web team to coordinate the build and deployment of all new and ongoing software enhancements throughout the development life-cycle process, as well provide primary support for all existing software on the Web Systems channel. The position will also be primary responsible to maintain the application tools that build, deploy, and automate the software development and release process. The position will also offer the opportunity to assume a more direct role in the development process while working under the direct supervision and oversight from the Software Engineering team if desired.

Essential Functions:

• Work with Project Management requirements on all builds, deployments and releases, as well as ongoing support.
• Assist team members in best practice coding methodologies, agile development and deployment deadlines.
• Primary point of contact for production incidents, perform the initial troubleshooting as to the root cause, as well as coordinate with the Software Engineering team on the delivery of timely solutions.
• Ensure operational best practices for web technical and support teams.
• Primary role in automating existing processes, recognizing failures and weak points in new and existing processes to optimize efficiency and security.
• Advise on correct and necessary monitoring and failure notifications and ensure all are in place for all systems that support the web channel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in Information Technology
• 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
• Understanding of J2EE Client/Server architecture and Web/Application Server Environments such as Apache/Tomcat/running on a Linux/UNIX environment
• Understanding of client-side web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, jQuery, and BootStrap
• Understanding of Java build/deployment tools such as Ant, Maven, and Jenkins
