This is a highly responsible and independent position focusing on the planning and coordination of programs for FDOH-SJC.
This position spends the majority of time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. This includes communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees. In addition to planning and directing employees' work, the incumbent has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and complete timesheets.
Provides leadership, management, and direct supervision of the Community Health Education and Emergency Prepardness areas of FDOH-SJC. These responsibilities include providing administrative, operational, and financial oversight. This position:
- Develops internal objectives within regulatory, budgetary, and contractual guidelines which includes identifying staffing and financial needs.
- Plans and develops annual program budgets for Community Health Education and Emergency Preparedness. This includes the monthly management of those budgets (revenue and expenses), attending regular budget meetings, and ensuring good fiscal responsibility is being maintained.
- Conducts grant management of assigned grant funding sources that includes appropriate fiscal oversight while complying with applicable State and Federal law and continual supervision of the completion of grant deliverables.
- Directs the community health outreach activities conducted by FDOH-SJC to ensure participation and representation is being completed at community outreach events. This includes ensuring networks and partnerships within the community are being developed and maintained to maximize the services provided to SJC residents.
- Directs emergency preparedness activities to ensure community and county partnerships are maintained to support a multi-agency disaster response.
- Oversees and directs deliverables and their completion for the above departments to ensure deliverables are timely, correct and in compliance with FDOH and FDOH-SJC policies and procedures.
- Reviews Employee Activity Reports and other applicable programs for timely submission and appropriate coding required by established guidelines for all programs.
