Exempt level position. 

Position Summary: 
The Senior Business Analyst – MAPICS is an experienced functional and technical contributor within the Global Applications organization, responsible for delivering and supporting the Infor XA (MAPICS) platform. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating complex business requirements into scalable ERP solutions. The Senior Business Analyst brings deep knowledge of MAPICS functionality and AS400-based custom enhancements, leading end-to-end solution design and delivery across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and related domains. This individual plays a senior role in requirements gathering, fit/gap analysis, functional design, testing, and the build and maintenance of custom enhancements to ensure the MAPICS environment meets current and evolving business needs. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Provide functional and technical expertise in MAPICS (Infor XA) across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and sales. 
  • Evaluate functional design specifications and recommend optimal technical designs and solutions. 
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders, translating needs into detailed functional specifications and solution designs. 
  • Perform fit/gap analysis against MAPICS standard functionality to identify customization or configuration needs. 
  • Design, build, and maintain custom enhancements within the MAPICS ecosystem, leveraging AS400 technologies including RPG, CLLE, and DB2/SQL. 
  • Collaborate with development resources to ensure technical solutions align with functional requirements and enterprise standards. 
  • Lead functional testing, including test case development, execution, and defect tracking for enhancements, patches, and upgrades. 
  • Support integrations between MAPICS and external systems, contributing to design specifications and testing activities. 
  • Provide production support including incident triage, root cause analysis, and resolution for MAPICS-related issues. 
  • Author and maintain high-quality documentation including functional design documents, process flows, test scripts, and user guides. 
  • Facilitate end-user training and knowledge transfer to support adoption of new or changed functionality. 
  • Partner with the MAPICS Lead on enhancement roadmap planning, release management, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Ensure solutions adhere to SOX controls, change management standards, and IT governance requirements.
  • Mentor junior team members through technical design reviews, promoting consistency, scalability, and development best practices. 
  • Support M&A integration activities including data migration, system onboarding, and process harmonization as needed. 
  • Support internal and external audits related to ERP controls and change management processes 

Job Requirements:  

  • 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst with strong focus on Infor XA / MAPICS ERP. 
  • Proven hands-on experience building and maintaining custom enhancements on the AS400 (IBM i) platform, including RPG, MQs, CLLE, and SQL/DB2. 
  • Deep functional knowledge of MAPICS modules across manufacturing, supply chain, order management, and/or finance. 
  • Strong experience in requirements analysis, functional design, fit/gap assessment, and solution documentation. 
  • Experience with ERP testing methodologies including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing. 
  • Familiarity with MAPICS integration patterns and data exchange approaches (EDI, APIs, flat files, etc.). 
  • Understanding of SOX compliance, IT change management, and ERP governance practices. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; ability to engage effectively with both business and technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently and within globally distributed, cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience with ERP upgrade or modernization projects is a plus. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
