Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) seeks a full-time Assistant Director for the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) and Doctor of Educational Ministry (DEdMin) Studies at its Houston campus. This position serves as the primary liaison between the Houston campus and the Dallas-based directors of both professional doctoral programs, ensuring seamless coordination of academic, administrative, and student support functions. The assistant director will work closely with faculty, students, and administrative personnel to facilitate the successful expansion and operation of these programs in Houston (and eventually at other non-Dallas campuses as the seminary grows). Key Responsibilities Program Administration & Coordination- Serve as the primary contact for DMin and DEdMin students at the Houston campus, providing guidance on academic policies, course offerings, and program requirements.
- Collaborate with the Dallas-based DMin and DEdMin directors to implement and manage program logistics, course scheduling, and faculty support.
- Coordinate classroom and meeting space reservations for doctoral courses, intensives, and events.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of program-related communications and promotional materials.
- Support doctoral initiatives at other campuses (Dallas, Atlanta, Washington DC, etc.) as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for prospective and current students, providing information about admissions, registration, financial aid, and program expectations.
- Assist with student orientation and onboarding for new doctoral students.
- Track student progress and provide reminders regarding program milestones, dissertation/project deadlines, and graduation requirements.
- Coordinate with the Dallas-based directors to ensure program curriculum, course materials, and syllabi are available for students and faculty in a timely manner.
- Assist with the coordination of faculty teaching assignments, ensuring alignment with program needs and student demand.
- Support faculty in the administration of coursework, research projects, and program assessments.
- Organize Houston-based intensives and seminars, ensuring smooth logistical execution.
- Assist in the marketing and recruitment efforts for the DMin and DEdMin programs at the Houston campus, working with DTS Admissions and Marketing teams.
- Represent the programs at local ministry conferences, church gatherings, and recruitment events to promote the doctoral offerings at Houston campus.
- Process student registrations, course changes, and academic petitions in coordination with the Registrar’s Office.
- Manage budgetary aspects related to program logistics, events, and faculty travel.
- Ensure alignment of the Houston programs with the overall mission and academic excellence of DTS.
Qualifications
- Earned doctorate required.
- Experience in academic advising, administrative systems, or professional graduate programs.
