Responds to behavioral health calls for service with JCSO deputies and provides clinical crisis intervention services, assessment, evaluations, problem identification, and referrals to appropriate levels of care.
Assists and/or executes appropriate mental health holds.
Provides short-term case management with high-utilizing clients to identify problems, look for alternative care options and help solve problems alongside the client.
Provides care coordination and follow-up with clients who are discharged from community agencies to ensure smooth transition back into the community.
Provides clinical input on other team members’ cases.
Maintains accurate and timely case management records.
Provides on-going department wide or training on innovative interventions or improvements to responses to mental health calls.
Participates in team meetings, in-service training, and clinical supervision as required.
Participates in proactive, preventative community outreach to members of the community struggling with behavioral health concerns.
Responsible for maintaining and vetting a network of resources and referral sources to meet the needs of the client population.
Engages in community events to inform of Co-Responder services alongside JCSO deputies.
Attends trainings pertinent to role.
Other duties as assigned.

Required:
- Valid Colorado driver’s license at hire.
- Minimum of three years of experience in co-response or crisis work (e.g. hospitals, crisis centers, withdrawal management, inpatient psychiatric facilities, residential settings, or schools).
- Current license in good standing with the State of Colorado as a Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Ability to respond to telephone inquiries from team members or department personnel after scheduled working hours.
- Ability to respond to in-progress crisis situations and effectively communicate with team members, law enforcement and people in crisis.
