Friendship is looking for Certified Nurse Aides to join our Friendship Adult Medical Daycare team, located in Roanoke, VA. The Activities Assistant & Certified Nurse Aide will be responsible for providing assistance to day care residents for basic and activities related functions.
Shifts Available:
• PRN, schedule varies 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Assist participants with personal care including toileting and bathing
• Participate in development of new and interesting programs based on participant interest
• Maintain accurate records according to licensure regulations
• Comply with all requirements set forth in the individual participant care plan
• Participate in maintain an accurate care plan
• Assist with ambulation, sitting, standing with or without the use of medical equipment and toileting
• Measure and record vital signs, height and weight as required
• Lead small and large activities programs that encourage and promote independence and well-being
• Maintain a clean and safe activity area
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be a licensed CNA in the state of VA or if not certified, must be able to provide a training certificate from a board approved program
• Adult First Aid/CPR and AED
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
• Must have knowledge of and an interest in geriatrics; and must have a good understanding of medical terminology
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds
