How Will You Make an Impact?
As a Quality Engineer II at our Auburn Hills, MI facility, you will support assembly manufacturing by developing and maintaining quality documentation, driving corrective actions, and serving as a liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams. Your work will directly contribute to the delivery of high-quality solutions in healthcare, analytical instrumentation, and automotive industries, helping ensure product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Location:
This role is based on-site at our Auburn Hills, MI facility.
What Will You Do?
- Serve as a liaison between Jabil and suppliers/customers on quality issues.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance plans and process routings.
- Support quoting activities including process design, development, and implementation.
- Evaluate and support inspection processes through aids and instructions.
- Develop and implement specialized training for applicable functional groups.
- Conduct periodic reviews and maintain documentation files.
- Develop systems for document storage and access.
- Review discrepancies and coordinate corrective and preventative actions.
- Provide trend analysis of defects internally and externally.
- Participate in vendor survey activities as applicable.
- Support supplier process improvement efforts.
- Provide technical and logistical guidance to the quality engineering team.
- Drive corrective action efforts using SPC data and tracking tools.
- Work safely and comply with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Management & Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities but may involve mentoring or training other staff members.
How Will You Get Here?
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, CQT) preferred.
- Advanced PC skills, including familiarity with Jabil’s software packages.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in productivity improvement and statistical methods.
- Ability to write reports and present information effectively.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong understanding of quality systems and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to analyze data and drive corrective actions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Comfortable communicating with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Frequent walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Regular use of computer monitor and close vision required.
Work Environment
- Primary workstation is in an office setting with regular time spent on the manufacturing floor.
- Noise level ranges from low to moderate.
- Occasional travel may be required.
