Peraton is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst specialized in SAS to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will work as Platform Services Administrator installing, configuring, and supporting the services provided by the Platform Services team. A typical systems administrator is responsible for managing multiple platforms including, but not limited to SAS Enterprise 9.4, SAS Viya 3 / 4 , Apache/NGINX/IIS, JBoss, Tomcat, Alfresco CS, Node.js, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle SOA, Oracle Service Bus, Oracle WebCenter, Oracle Business Intelligence, Siebel, Drupal, and SiteMinder in an enterprise data center environment, including providing day-to-day business hour, non-prime on-call, or call in platform administration support to assigned systems.
SAS Administrator – Senior
The SAS Platform Administrator provides operational enhancements, maintenance, installation and support of the SAS platform. This includes providing SAS platform security management, SAS application and underlying infrastructure support (OS, Storage, SAS Applications, Web and Database) and ensuring processes are aligned with Customer tactical and strategic information management initiatives.
SAS System Administrator role is responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of various SAS products. Additional tasks may include some user support and troubleshooting of SAS and the underlying operating systems. Experience in security is desired. The role is considered a subject matter expert for all SAS related technical issues and best practices.The SAS Platform Administrator serves as liaison between SAS developers and enterprise infrastructure support teams to ensure appropriate delivery of technology solutions (performance tuning, data modeling, capacity and utilization, backups, disaster recovery, user support, training and documentation) in accordance with business requirements and objectives. The SAS Platform Administrator also ensures the platform is positioned for compliance with IT policies and standards and agreed upon service levels.
- Ensures the overall health of the SAS platform.
- Manage the configuration support and maintenance of the SAS platform.
- Oversee, recommend and implement appropriate solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in system reliability and performance.
- Monitor the overall availability and performance of the current SAS technology server environments and take corrective actions as necessary to insure peak operational performance.
- Perform new installation as necessary.
- Apply maintenance releases, upgrades and hot fixes as required.
- Designs solutions to reduce the operational and management complexity of the platform.
- Supports platform security compliance.
- Performs platform capacity planning and management including monitoring usage logs to assist in performance tuning of the systems and servers.
- Serves as an expert-level escalation point for escalated production and/or platform issues.
- Executing change control and promotions activities.
- Establishes best practices and guidelines for usage of the SAS platform.
- Technical Lead and point of contact as it relates to the SAS platform and its related projects and activities.
- Liaison to SAS for any support issues.
- Provide maintenance and support for SAS products during deployment, upgrade and any changes to SAS products and/ or during other enterprise activities that impact SAS infrastructure.
- Provide technical and application support; incident management to address user, application and data issues.
- Work with the SAS user community; perform periodic code reviews to ensure that SAS applications are utilizing efficient design principles and adhering to internally published best practices.
- Provide solution assistance to insure that the most appropriate SAS technology is selected to satisfy business requirements.
- Responsible for providing SAS technical support to end users and implementing new SAS technical solutions including the evaluation and recommendation of new tools and methodologies to assist with change management and perform upgrades of the SAS environment when necessary.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
- Advanced knowledge of LINUX and Windows operating systems.
- Must have advanced knowledge of Enterprise SAS products, such as SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya 3.x/4.x installation, configurations, and support in various environments.
- The SAS Administrator role requires 10+ years of product implementation and administration of SAS BI and Analytics
- U.S. Citizenship; active Public Trust clearance. <
