Junior Mechanical Engineer

This Junior Mechanical Engineer position is with Kysor-Warren Epta, part of the global Epta Group, located in Columbus, Georgia. As a key member of the R&D team, you will play a vital role in supporting the design and development of refrigerated cabinets and thermal insulation systems. You will contribute to structural design, technical documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards, gaining exposure to all aspects of mechanical engineering in the refrigeration industry.
Your contribution:- Design structural components for refrigerated cabinets, including sheet metal, piping, glass, aluminum, and plastic profiles.
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D drawings for plastic vacuum-formed and injection-molded components.
- Ensure product design compliance with regulatory standards and technical specifications.
- Document product designs with technical drawings, bills of material, and other engineering documents.
- Support the creation of product manuals and technical data sheets.
- Participate in new product development and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Assist in component selection and collaborate with vendors to obtain technical specifications.
- Travel may be required for training and exposure to glass production and product development.
You excel at technical design, documentation, and teamwork in a fast-paced engineering environment. Additionally, you have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2-5 years of experience as a designer, preferably in product development for a large industry.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks experience is a plus).
- Basic understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of refrigeration, household appliances, air conditioning, or automotive industries (preferred).
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Strong analytical and communication skills to document complex situations effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple requests from different departments and prioritize tasks effectively.
