Student assistant: Cloud Application Development for Industrial Production

Rapid digitalization in the manufacturing industry goes hand in hand with the increasing use of cloud-based applications for process control. Cloud applications take advantage of the extensive resources and  5G to enable real-time applications such as process monitoring, environmental conditions, and energy monitoring needed for industrial use cases. These require software modules that can be used to develop the applications and deploy them remotely.

 

What you will do

• Support in developing the cloud infrastructure for smart data acquisition
• Develop sensor data pipelines and realize various industrial application such as anomaly detection and shock detection
• Develop dashboards to visualize the data and store it in a database
• Design algorithms for data analytics, sensor fusion and sensor platform localization

 

What you bring to the table

• You are studying Informatics, computer science, electronics engineering or a comparable technical subject and are enthusiastic about technological challenges
• You have basic experience in Cloud application development and programming languages such as python, C++ or GO
• You ideally have experience in data analytics and web-based data visualization tools like Grafana
• Experience working with IoT protocols such as MQTT, OPCUA, TCP / IP is advantageous
• Basic Experience with Embedded microcontrollers such as Raspberry PI or Arduino
• High degree of initiative, a sense of responsibility, creativity, and team spirit
• Good communication skills in German and English
