Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $198,500.00 - $302,750.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

What you will be doing

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Corporate Finance & Financial Operations, the Assistant Vice President will partner closely with senior leadership across the Finance Department and the broader organization to oversee the Joint Venture and Regional portfolio.

This role is responsible for the financial oversight of a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives and serves as a key contributor throughout the lifecycle of projects—from concept development through go-live and post-implementation evaluation. The Assistant Vice President will lead the preparation of business plans and financial feasibility analyses, support executive and Board presentations, and coordinate financial activities associated with the implementation and management of strategic initiatives.

The successful candidate will demonstrate deep expertise in healthcare financial operations, regulatory environments, and strategic planning. This leader will also possess strong team-building capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to provide sophisticated financial and strategic analysis to support organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s strategic roadmap, integrated strategic financial plan, operations, regulatory landscape, and their implications on strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor developments in healthcare finance and industry trends, anticipating changes and evaluating their potential impact on the organization.
  • Establish and implement best practices to improve processes, systems, and workflows in order to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with leaders across the organization.
  • Develop, lead, and support presentations for the Board of Directors, Leadership Council, and other executive meetings.
  • Apply expertise in hospital finance and healthcare industry dynamics to evaluate risks, test assumptions, and analyze strategic opportunities using structured and creative problem-solving approaches.
  • Provide regular project updates to senior leadership, ensuring transparency around progress toward goals and identifying critical issues as they arise.
  • Serve as an effective leader and active member of cross-functional planning and implementation teams.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a broad range of stakeholders through concise written and verbal communication.
  • Mentor team members and foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture aligned with organizational values.

Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic financial analysis and planning within a hospital setting.
  • Experience in a major teaching or surgical hospital environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with joint ventures, partnerships, or private healthcare ventures is highly desirable.
