Under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) the Nursing Care Assistant is responsible to provide daily services involving basic care for patients, processing physicians’ orders, answering the telephone and intercom, performing a variety of clerical duties and clinical tasks as well as other assigned unit duties. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. This position is a home care aide.

Overview of Responsibilities
Education/Experience
Education Required: NA
Education Preferred: Current CNA certification in Indiana
Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year working with a frail or elderly population
Experience Preferred: 2 years of experience working in a nursing home or home health environment.
Licensure: None
Certifications: CNA certification preferred but not required can have on the job training for NCA with competency; CPR
Other:
- Knowledge of principles, practices, standards and techniques of a NCA.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions for a safe work environment
- Knowledge of medical equipment use and maintenance
- Skilled in establishing and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff and the public
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Basic computer literacy
Schedule Details
Day Shift. Monday-Friday, on-call weekend rotation, 10a-630p.What We Offer
