Position Summary:
CVG Trim Systems & Components (TS&C) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to support the continued growth of our fast-expanding division. In this role, you will serve as both a strong individual contributor and an effective team partner, responsible for cultivating new customer relationships, expanding opportunities within existing accounts, and managing a robust pipeline of targeted prospects across the business’ diverse portfolio.
The ideal candidate is proactive, entrepreneurial, and comfortable traveling to drive business growth. This position offers high visibility with executive leadership and reports directly to the Vice President, Sales & Marketing. This is a remote role based in the Southeast region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish a diverse and robust customer base – both new and existing customers.
- Approximately 80% of this role will be spent developing new customers utilizing a consultative relationship selling approach. Approximately 20% will be growing current customer relationships.
- Proactively prospect and cultivate relationships and grow revenue by building and managing the sales pipeline with new and existing customers.
- Facilitates RFQ process (as needed), delivers proposals (with the help of cross-functional team members as appropriate) and closes business.
- Take responsibility to help establish and then achieve annual sales forecast and profit objectives.
- Work with customers to ensure continual sales growth and that the products we manufacture are a good fit for the organization.
- Work collaboratively with Engineers and Managers (internal and external) to effectively meet customer needs and expectations.
- Identify and represent Trim Systems & Components division at key tradeshows and networking events to further expand knowledge of the industry and CVG’s value-proposition.
- Participate in and influence the new product development process as the voice of the customer to help drive new product ideas and offerings to drive Trim Systems’ strategic vision.
- Stays informed of customer business opportunities, account changes, current conditions, prospects, and competitive landscape to protect revenue from competitors.
- Participate and support the marketing communications and digital presence of TS&C division. Support with sales materials development (blog posts, articles, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or marketing disciplines or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Preferred 5+ years sales or engineering experience in the plastic injection industry
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge: Knowledge of engineering or technical operations; strong knowledge of selling technical solutions; Preferred knowledge of injection molding custom solutions in plastics including tooling building.
- Abilities: Ability to travel frequently (50% or more – North America); To work independently with limited supervision; To be able to solve practical problems and work effectively with external and internal customers and other departments. To be a strategic thinker
- Ability to translate strategy into tactical implementation to execute on the opportunities.
- Able to effectively call on all levels of the customer hierarchy and multiple functions (Sourcing, Operations, Engineering, Marketing, etc.) of major OEM companies.
- Brings established relationships and a history of successfully winning new business.
- Ability to analyze information and communicate to customers and all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with and influence peers and management.
- Highly motivated, disciplined/self-starter.
- Strong ability to build effective relationships. • Proficiency with tools and methods that allow for efficient data analysis and presentation development (Excel, PowerPoint). • Highly responsiveness and resilient.
