We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our team. The goal of an Sr. Software Engineer at Wisk is to ensure that software tools and environment are developed, and qualified in order to meet DO-178C/DO-330 objectives. You will be part of the Software Certification Team under the Chief Engineer’s Office that is responsible for software certification of airborne and ground software. One of the responsibilities include defining vision, strategy and roadmap for both COTS and inhouse software tools and environment that will be used across teams.

Why we need you:
- With that vision in mind, we are looking for an Sr. Software Engineer to join our Software Certification team. The goal of the Sr. Software Engineer at Wisk is to closely work with various functional and product teams, identify the software tools and environment to build the first fully autonomous all-electric aircraft that performs and operates safely in an urban air-mobility environment. In support of this goal, you will be part of the Software Certification Team team that is responsible for defining tools, qualification and deployment strategy, defining architecture, implementation, qualification, deployment and maintenance for common software tools.
- The successful candidate has hands-on working experience in identifying, defining, developing, qualification, deployment and maintenance of software tools used in the aerospace industry. Has experience in tool qualification. Has experience in setting up configuration management repositories, Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipelines, deploying tools in cloud environments. Has a good understanding of embedded software development and verification. Has hands on experience working with programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, C#, C/C++, perl, databases and developing Graphical User Interface (GUI) for software tools. Has a good understanding of software integration testing, simulation testing and system level testing of software. In this role, the candidate must be proactive, forward thinking and self-motivated with the ability to inspire and influence a team of like-minded engineers.
What you will do:
- As part of the Software Certification organization, you will act as a Sr. Software Engineer for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market
- You will take part in discussion with various functional and product teams to identify and define the software tools that are common across teams.
- You will support in creating common software tools and environment design, implementation, deployment, qualification and maintenance. Involves performing trade study, prototyping on selecting tools, technologies suitable for development, verification of product software. Creating and reviewing tool qualification plans and documentation that is required to support DO-178C/DO-331 objectives.
- You will help support problem solving activities for existing tools and environment deployed as well as future tools that will be developed and deployed.
- You will support training the functional and product team for tools deployed.
What you have done:
- B.S. in electrical or computer science engineering discipline with at least 5 years of experience in software tools development, qualification and deployment in the aerospace industry.
- You have worked on identifying, defining, developing, qualification, deployment and maintenance of software tools used in the aerospace industry.
- You have hands-on experience setting up configuration management repositories, Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipelines, deploying tools in cloud environments. Working with programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, C#, C/C++, perl, databases and developing Graphical User Interface (GUI) for software tools. Tool qualification to meet DO-331 objectives.
- You have a good understanding of software integration testing, simulation testing and system level testing of software
- You have a strong and applied understanding of software development lifecycle and tools development lifecycle
