This role, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, is crucial in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not include relocation assistance and requires working on-site with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It provides a vital operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to meet global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, providing an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to enhance overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a key element in all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's present and future capabilities.
The selected candidate will join a team that reports to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) and is responsible for daily system monitoring, operations, and maintenance of the C2BMC systems in a 24x7 operations and test environment. The candidate will provide first-level technical support to the warfighter and handle initial troubleshooting of all local C2BMC hardware, software, and networks.
Essential Functions:
Document and report all events/issues to the CWO, and receive tasking and direction from the CCC for all operations, testing, and real-world events
Assist with all hardware and software installations as directed by the local SMEs, and create and maintain user accounts as instructed by the local ISSO
Will focus on laboratory and testing activities
Extensive background and experience in troubleshooting hardware and software components
Extensive background and experience in the operations and maintenance of large-scale computers, communications systems, and networking environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Performs additional duties and assignments as needed
Basic Qualifications:
Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
Applicants must have a current active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, SecurityX, CCNA, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CISSP, etc.), which is required to start
