The Work You Will Do:
This is a Senior Attorney position in our Administrative Law Section located at our Tallahassee office.
The attorney in this position represents the Department in all phases of administrative proceedings under Chapter 120, Florida Statutes, including pre- and post-hearing matters, discovery, pleadings, motion hearings, public meetings, negotiations, settlement conferences, bid protest litigation, access management, and other legal matters. In addition, review of environmental documents, manuals, and policies for compliance and conformity with state and federal environmental statutes and regulations.

You are a part of the Office of the General Counsel statewide team and will work in our Administrative Law Section located at 605 Suwannee Street, Tallahassee, FL 32399-0458.
Annual Salary Range:
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Represents the Department in all phases of administrative proceedings under Chapter 120, Florida Statutes, including pre- and post-hearing matters, discovery, pleadings, motion hearings, public meetings, negotiations, settlement conferences, bid protest litigation, access management, and other legal matters. In addition, review of environmental documents, manuals, and policies for compliance and conformity with state and federal environmental statutes and regulations.
Represents the Department in court proceedings.
Provides legal assistance and advice to Department offices, as assigned, and advises responsible personnel in those offices regarding their legal powers and duties, how the law effects their operations, and the implementation of policies and rules.
Advises responsible Department personnel regarding the adoption of the most appropriate rules to accomplish their duties, drafts rule language, conducts hearings if requested, and assists with correspondence associate
