Job Summary
Summary<br>Responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing clinical laboratory specimens.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Receive, label, and distribute clinical laboratory specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples. <br>-Process specimens by verifying patient information, accessioning samples into the laboratory information system, and preparing samples for testing. <br>
-Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment. <br>
-Follow established procedures and protocols for specimen handling, storage, and disposal. <br>
-Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory area. <br>
-Adhere to safety and quality standards including use of personal protective equipment, proper disposal of hazardous materials, and adherence to laboratory accreditation requirements. <br>
-Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing. <br>
-Perform other related duties as assigned by laboratory management. <br>
Qualifications
Education
Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred or High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Experience
Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and terminology.
- Ability to follow established procedures and protocols with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
