Position Description:
Defines test strategy and applies test automation skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve active trader desktop experience across both Mac and Windows. Builds, debugs, tests and supports Dotnet based desktop applications. Maintains product test repository and releases regression test planning using test case management tools like X-Ray (Jira). Conducts desktop test automation using Python automation frameworks. Supports the team in designing reliable, accurate tests, and integrating them into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in architecture design teams.
Defines and implements application-level architecture.
Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
Responsible for meeting project goals on time and on budget.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
Advises senior management on technical strategy.
Mentors junior team members.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, building, and testing high transaction, low error tolerance web applications using Selenium, TestNG, Cypress, and Node in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, building, and testing high transaction, low error tolerance web applications using Selenium, TestNG, Cypress, and Node in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and implementing responsive front-end applications to enhance user experience using Node.js, React, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript; developing microservices using Java, REST, Python and Spring Boot; modernizing and validating legacy financial mainframe platforms using Selenium, Cypress, or Unified Functional Testing (UFT); and developing and validating Microservices and Serverless technologies for trade processing using Postman, SOAP UI, and Rest Assured to improve system performance and trade processing times.
DE designing quality assurance and testing strategy (with manual testing and automation for Investment Banking applications) to be used for order, asset, and wealth management using Selenium, Cypress, Automation Anywhere, or UFT; and coordinating with stakeholders to design and monitor quality assurance metrics using tools Asset and Liability Management (ALM), QC, Jira, CCS, Version One, and Team Foundation Server (TFS).
DE performing automation framework development and enhancement using Selenium, Cypress, Visual Studio TFS, IDE tools (IntelliJ or Eclipse), and frameworks (TestNG, Cucumber, and NUnit) to validate high transaction, low error tolerance financial applications including, order management, account creation, and asset
