Apollo Global Management is seeking an individual to work as a Security Master Analyst within its Operations division. This team provides operational support to various Funds, Separately Managed Accounts and Portfolio companies managed by Apollo, a leading global alternative asset management company. The candidate should have qualities to understand the operations groups’ internal applications (Security Master, Front End Platform, Accounting System, and Reporting Tool). A good understanding on the synchronization and workflow of the different applications used within the operations group day to day is a must. Due to the volatile nature of this business and rapid technological improvements, the candidate would also be required to participate in testing phases during implementations and integrations of our internal applications and processes. While the major role of this candidate would be Security Master and Reference data management, a good understanding of the entire operational workflow process is recommended. Functional responsibilities will include various asset type setups, maintenance of reference data across several platforms, periodic reconciliation for CLO trustee reporting, platform testing/integration and many ad-hoc requests from several different internal as well as external contacts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key responsibilities also include the following:
New security set up and ongoing maintenance of Security Master T&C and UDF’s across all Sec Master Platforms
Maintain Sec Master Data in of all internal Security Master Platforms (Everest, VPM, Markit EDM, Aexeo, Thinkfolio, TradeFlow) and understand synchronization between them.
Work alongside our compliance team to make sure new security set ups comply with Compliance Policies, Ops Teams to insure proper booking of assets and the Front Office regarding support of trading activities.
Create and maintain all reference data in Everest, VPM, EDM and Thinkfolio. Below are the more commonly maintained peripheral data groups: Country, Funds/Fund Groups, Currency, Security Types, Holiday Calendar, Strategies, Executing/Clearing Brokers, Issuers, Exchanges
Participate in project related work to create enhancements within Security Master team & Operations.
Complete/analyze daily and monthly CLO trustee reporting for reference data inaccuracies.
Synergize daily with satellite team members to cohesively complete tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
Ideal candidates will have experience in a few of the following areas:
Loans (Term, Revolving, Delayed Draw, Bridge, Private/Credit Agreements)
Bonds (Corp, Gov’t, CVB, Forwards)
Credit Default Swaps (Index, Tranche, Single Name)
Equities (Stock, Depository Receipts, ETF’s)
Forward Currency Contract
Options (FX, Index, Equity, IRS/CDX, OTC)
Interest Rate Swap
Spread Locks
Total Return/Equity Swaps
Mortgage Backed Sec
Knowledge of Security Master and Reference data
Appreciation of data quality, completeness, and controls
Demonstrated experience in process improvements
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Experience with Bloomberg and rating agencies (S&P, Moody’s, Fitch) a plus
Experience with VPM, Everest, Markit Partners, Thinkfolio, and EDM is a plus
Project management experience is a plus
Experience with offshore or satellite teams is a plus
To qualify, candidates must have the following:
Undergraduate Degree with 2-7 years of relevant experience
GPA 3.0 and above
Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate a high learning aptitude
