JOB DESCRIPTION

Northwest Bank is seeking a motivated, personable, and detail-oriented Retail Lending and Payments Intern with a strong desire to learn; to join our team for Summer 2026. This internship can provide hands-on experience in asset sales and transfers, loan originations and servicing, payment processing, data validation, competitive analysis, banking operations, credit risks, and financial products in a fast-paced environment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with daily lending and payments operations including customer transactions, account maintenance, and service inquiries.

• Shadow and support bankers in opening new accounts, processing loan applications or payments, and promoting financial products.

• Perform competitive analysis projects for lending and/or payment products and services.

• Assist in developing benchmarking standards and creating measurement methods to track and evaluate performance against them.

• Complete post-closing and data validation tasks for newly originated loans.

• Support leadership team with administrative tasks and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong interest in retail banking, lending, payments, data and analytics, customer
service, or financial services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional demeanor and a customer-first attitude.
• Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to a dynamic setting.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with banking systems is a plus.
