Are you an influential Tax Provisions leader with a passion for process and technical analysis? The Western Union Tax team is looking for a highly motivated Director of Tax Accounting to join us to as a key leader in our Tax Team. This leader will be responsible for all requirements related to the federal consolidated tax provision and forecast.

As a Director of Tax Accounting, you will be contributing and leading the design and experience of the tax provision team and be a key leader within the tax function.
Role Responsibilities
Direct and review all aspects of the global income tax provision process related to determining the company’s effective tax rate. Analyze and explain changes in the effective tax rate period over period.
Oversee and review the delivery and recording of journal entries to ensure tax impacts to the company’s financial statements are presented in accordance with ASC 740.
Oversee and adhere to department policies to manage, update and ensure the tax accounting quarterly and annual procedures are in compliance with required SOX control objectives.
Review tax footnotes including all supporting schedules relating to the company’s tax disclosures.
Lead interface with corporate accounting with respect to the income tax provision.
Lead and maintain communication with outside auditing firm on tax accounting issues and interim/year-end close process as needed.
Lead annual tax forecast process including periodic updates as necessary.
Responsible for the integrity of the tax provision software/process in support of the consolidated and specified statutory financial statements.
Support of the tax team on transactions as well as tax contingencies and audit settlements.
Role Requirements
Minimum 10 years corporate tax experience including significant US income tax accounting and compliance; transactional experience is a plus.
Undergrad degree in Accounting required; CPA required; advanced degree a plus.
CorpTax or similar software experience required.
PC proficient with experience in Microsoft (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, etc.); Alteryx a plus. Oracle/HFM a plus.
Management experience with solid teamwork ethics.
Excellent organizational skills for multi-tasking.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface at high levels of tax and non-tax management.
Salary
The expected pay range for this position is $150,000 – 200,000 and will be eligible for short-term incentive, long-term incentive, 401k, healthcare, and paid days off. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
