Position Overview:

REDLattice is seeking a Principal Cyber Engineer to serve as a senior technical consultant, manager, and recognized subject matter expert supporting high-priority national security missions. This role is ideal for seasoned engineers with experience in creating and maintaining embedded and cross-domain cybersecurity capabilities.

As a Principal Cyber Engineer, you will harness advanced technical expertise and creativity to develop and deploy pioneering R&D capabilities that bridge hardware/software interfaces. You will demonstrate superior proficiency in firmware reverse engineering using tools such as Ghidra and IDA Pro, as well as a deep understanding of PCB-level communications (SPI, UART, I2C) to identify vulnerabilities in embedded systems. You will also exhibit unmatched skill in RF communication systems, including protocol derivation from captured signals, and perform open-source research on technical devices of interest to support mission objectives.

In addition to your technical mastery, you will act as the direct point-of-contact for senior customer leaders, providing strategic guidance, innovative technical perspectives, and actionable solutions to complex challenges. You will also lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring mission success while shaping the next generation of technical talent within REDLattice.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or related technical field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
  • 8+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity engineering, reverse engineering, or vulnerability research.
  • Superior proficiency with reverse engineering tools such as Ghidra and IDA Pro.
  • Demonstrated success developing and maintaining embedded and cross-domain cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of PCB-level communications, including SPI, UART, and I2C.
  • Proven ability to identify vulnerabilities in embedded systems and architect end-to-end technical solutions.
  • Advanced expertise in RF communication systems and deriving protocols from captured signals.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing open-source intelligence (OSINT) on technical devices of interest.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring engineers and managing complex development programs.
  • Proven ability to operate as a trusted technical advisor with senior customer leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Up to Active TS/SCI clearance required, with ability to obtain additional clearances, as needed.
