Overview:
The Enrichment Systems Engineering Section within the Enrichment Science and Engineering Division (ESED) is seeking a LabVIEW Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) Technician for the EI&C Engineering (EICE) Group. In this group, we are focused on research & development (R&D) of hardware and software solutions for various enrichment systems that strengthen Oak Ridge National Laboratory's leadership in isotope production and enrichment technology innovation.
ESED serves the nation in two critical areas: advancing enrichment technologies and exploring stable isotope production and applications. The division leverages an elite staff of scientists and engineers with the world-leading capabilities of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to deliver groundbreaking advancements with a variety of applications, from national security to life-saving medical treatments.
ESED is the national steward for the research, development, and demonstration of gas centrifuge technology. Furthermore, ESED continues to expand the nation’s stable isotope portfolio by advancing electromagnetic isotope separation technology. Beyond advancing current technology, the division is also exploring new ways to enrich stable and radioactive isotopes. The successful candidate will support the design, fabrication, and integration of I&C components of ESED enrichment systems to ensure ORNL meets the nation’s need for these vital materials and technology.
Purpose:
Provide technical support for a variety of technical projects, programs, or operations consistent with ORNL’s aspiration to be the world’s premier R&D institution and ORNL’s science culture. Work with EICE technical staff to design, build, integrate, and commission solutions to support I&C systems that are deployed for the advancement of enrichment technologies and isotope production.
