Details

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with expertise in bridging the gap between data engineering and business intelligence. In this role, you will focus on data exploration, dataset creation, and QA validation to deliver actionable insights and reliable datasets for analytics. Combining your technical skills with a strong understanding of business needs, you will build scalable solutions and ensure data quality for reporting and visualization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Exploration: Analyze and interpret complex datasets to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities.
• Dataset Building: Create well-structured, analysis-ready datasets by collaborating with data engineering teams to leverage curated data pipelines.
• Business Intelligence Development: Design and develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau or similar BI tools to communicate insights effectively.
• QA and Validation: Perform rigorous quality assurance on datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency for downstream analytics.
• Requirements Gathering: Partner with stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into technical requirements for data solutions.
• Data Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for datasets, transformations, and reports to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers to define and improve data models, ensuring they meet business requirements.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize queries, dashboards, and workflows for efficiency and scalability in BI tools and database environments.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Tableau or similar BI tools for designing and deploying dashboards and reports.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying, transformation, and validation.
• Familiarity with modern data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake and understanding of schemas (e.g., Star, Snowflake).
• Hands-on experience with Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
• Demonstrated ability to perform data quality checks and validation.
• Experience building datasets for analytics and reporting, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Haves):

• Knowledge of DBT (Data Build Tool) or similar tools for transforming and modeling data.
• Exposure to data governance practices, including lineage, quality control, and metadata management.
• Experience with data orchestration tools for workflow automation.
• Familiarity with cloud-based analytics environments, particularly Azure or other platforms.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in data analysis, BI development, or a related role with a strong focus on dataset creation and validation.
