Pharmacy Technician - Full & Part Time

Description

• Performs various technical and clerical duties to assist in providing medications to patients, under the direction of Registered Pharmacist.  
• Performs drug distribution duties, including filling unit dose bins, new medication orders, crash carts, and unit dose night locker carts while maintaining high accuracy rate. 
• Performs computer function to enter charge/credit items daily.
• Fills/delivers orders with 45 minute turnaround from point of order entry; fills stat orders within a 30 minute turnaround.
• Performs monthly unit inspection in patient areas; reports issues to the Director. 
• Assists with maintaining inventory of stock/supplies, expiration dates; rotation of stock.
• Checks stock and delivers pharmacy supplies to other departments daily.
• Enters pharmacy charges into the computer system daily for other departments.
• Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalency. 
• Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician licensure.
• Related experience preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is of medium demand.  
• Routine lifting requirements up to 50 pounds.  
• Sitting, bending and reaching required.  
• Stands and walks more than 50% of the work day.  
• Works inside.  
• May handle labeled bio-hazard substances.
