Department Background:

The New York State Integrated Pest Management Program (NYSIPM) at Cornell AgriTech is part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). The program leads research initiatives and provides research-based educational outreach in the areas of agriculture and community IPM throughout the region. NYSIPM is closely linked with Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) at Cornell University, the Land Grant University of New York State. NYSIPM, CCE, and Cornell are charged with advancing the lives and livelihoods of NYS residents through teaching, research, and public service. The Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) part of NYSIPM is a federally mandated program whose primary mission is to promote proper use of pesticides and to serve as an objective source of information about pesticides for applicators, researchers, and the general public.

Position Summary:

As an innovative and experienced Pesticide Safety Education Digital Content Developer for NYSIPM, your role is pivotal in managing and enhancing their digital presence. You will work closely with the NYSIPM Digital Systems Specialist to ensure seamless integration of content into existing digital platforms of the Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) and alignment with organizational goals. You will also collaborate with the digital team to maintain and update multiple websites, design and maintain databases, develop tools and resources to support pest management and pesticide safety outreach, and create web applications. Ensuring content accuracy, consistency, and optimization for Search Engine Optimization (SEO), you will provide prompt customer support, process online orders, and manage media assets with emphasis on the needs of the PSEP. You will collaboratively strategize content goals, track campaign performance, and analyze social media analytics in collaboration with the digital team. This position requires strong proficiency in digital content management, effective communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
