Job Description:

What’s the role

As a Regional Sales Manager, you will lead a direct sales team in growing Shell's domestic polyethylene sales position, and delivering incremental margin, with the following duties below.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with PE (Polyethylene) corporate customers (CEO, VP, Procurement, Plant Management, etc.) across diverse geographic locations

  • Solicit PE sales monthly at sales accounts, overseeing the end-to-end Customer Experience (CX), from volume, order entry, pricing, delivery, credit, product quality, etc. while maximizing value to Shell PE

  • Advise the commercial team on market segment trends, product trends, pricing, PE competitor activity, etc. on a real time, on-going basis

  • Lead a team of Territory Managers (6-10) in managing direct sales accounts, including ensuring sales execution in volume delivery, price negotiations, and margin optimization. Drive sales coaching and development best practices

  • Coach PE Territory Managers, taking a leadership role in establishing deep expertise in PE sales best-practices, differentiated market segments/pricing, customer buying habits, and commercial deal negotiation with PE buyers

  • In conjunction with the Senior Regional Sales Manager, develop, articulate, and execute the direct commercial sales strategy including gaining alignment with integrated business leadership, including product management, technical service, marketing, and operations

  • Develop a detailed sales plan for significant year over year growth

  • Identify opportunities to differentiate Shell Polymer’s CX CVP and execute programs which support reputation and CX maturation and growth

What we need from you

  • You must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • You must have a minimum of 15 years of experience in commercial sales/marketing is required, 5 years of experience PE commercial experience is required

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required

  • In depth knowledge of polymers/chemicals products, market segments, pricing differentials, competitor products, and industry market trends is required

  • Commercial strategies, negotiating

  • Account management/ relationship

  • Mastery of deal making with a variety of polymers/chemicals accounts (size, end use, etc.) is required

  • A strong commercial mindset with a drive for maximizing value for Shell Polymers while building and maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty over the long term will be required

  • Flexibility and innovative thinking a must as a leader in a start-up business

The base salary range for this position is $174, 000 – $262, 000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity. 

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance.
