Job Description
Join NBCUniversal Cyber Security and help us design and implement endpoint security platforms and services that enable and protect the experience of our businesses.
This role is a part of the Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineering team, responsible for endpoint security technology that supports the entire NBCUniversal enterprise. You'll be responsible for design and engineering of endpoint security services that provide visibility and defend all endpoints managed by the enterprise.
You'll:
- Providing technical implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting assistance for EDR and other endpoint security platform deployments.
- Deploy and manage host-based security solutions such as Crowdstrike, Airlock, Tanium, Trillex and ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
- Develop and customize automation scripts using scripting and programming languages like Python, PowerShell for enhanced security tool functionality.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and demonstrate your abilities in driving security initiatives.
- Implement and support security systems and infrastructure while adhering to Agile processes.
- Collaborating closely with customer IT teams to integrate host-based protection into existing tools and environments.
- Participate in On-call rotation to provide off-hours support for critical systems.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a large-scale production environment, with a focus on cyber security operations.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing EDR, and other security solutions.
- Proficiency in working with Windows, Linux and/or Unix-like variants.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams and across functional organizations.
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-learning capabilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Security mindset with a general understanding of cybersecurity principles.
- A thirst for improvement and an inclination to thoughtfully challenge the status quo.
- Desire to try things and iterate on them, fail fast, and focus on functionality that matters.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems, determine root cause and develop solutions.
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong familiarity with scripting languages and automation for security tool customization.
- Solid grounding in the technology of at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of indexing and search query products like Splunk, Elastic Search, and SQL based databases.
