As part of a hardworking team of Crane Operation Production Support (COPS) You will develop the next generation of launch and space vehicle manufacturing on Florida’s Space Coast at our Orbital Launch Site Manufacturing Complex. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of hoisting large equipment, vehicle stages, any size flight hardware, and other components requiring critical and standard lift plans. The work will involve authoring Critical and Standard Lift planning and execution, loading/unloading operations, load share and sling tension calculations, rigging, load monitoring, and process documentation. The COPS group interfaces directly with vehicle design, GSE & PSE Design, and production teams, launch systems, and other test and operational groups. We put a strong emphasis on teamwork, coordination, and service to support all Blue Origin team needs. Additional responsibilities include leading crane operations and personnel effectively, be able to make decisions quickly during the hazardous crane operations that keep our workforce personnel SAFE and our hardware safe, as well as mentoring Crane operators/Lift directors, and rigging operations personnel before, during and after hoisting operations.

Responsibilities:
- Work directly with flight design engineers as well as GSE/PSE design engineer to author, plan and execute lifting operations for both Critical Lift Operations and Standard Lift Operations.
- Responsible to verify that all work is being performed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with ASME and OSHA lifting and handling standards.
- Efficiently and safely carry out Lifting and Handling operations of any size loads. This could include lifting, installing, rigging, and weighing of any size loads.
- Execute the Lifting operation with a safety-oriented approach to identify and eliminate potential injuries and accidents.
- Support assembly and disassembly of all Critical rigging configuration of GSE, PSE and flight hardware. Also support Standard Lifting operations requests for unique or complex operations that do not fall under the Critical Lift requirements.
- Perform pre-mission dry runs to ensure functionality and operational readiness of Lifting and Handling Crane operations.
- Understand and be able to Operate multiple type of cranes, primarily overhead cranes. These overhead cranes include JIB hoists, A frame Hoists, chain falls, lever hoists, etc.
- Understand and be able to Lift direct 1) Mobile Crane operations, 2) dual overhead crane operations, 3) dual mobile crane operations and 4) dual mobile and overhead crane operations.

Qualifications:
- Ability to determine Mass Properties and calculate the Center of Gravity of GSE/PSE and flight hardware.
- Ability to determine sling tensions for the overall hoisting operation.
- Ability to generate specific detail list of rigging hardware for any Lifting and handling operation when using a crane.
- Ability to generate and edit lift plan diagrams using software as an aid.
- Experience in lifting, rigging, and moving GSE/PSE and Flight hardware.
- Well versed in reading and understand engineering drawings, ASME, OSHA, Air Force and NASA Standards as required to ensure that GSE/PSE and mass properties provided are adequate for the specific lifting and handling operation.
